What is rhinoplasty?
La rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to make morphological changes to the nose in order to beautify it (cosmetic surgery), to repair it (reconstructive surgery following a trauma or a mutilating disease) or to restore its function (ORL functional purpose).
Aesthetic rhinoplasty can:
→ Refine an excessively large nose to the patient's taste
→ Reshape an unsightly tip of the nose
→ Correcting a deviation of the nasal septum
→ Remove a bump on the nose
→ Change the shape of the nostrils
Principle of intervention
Each rhinoplasty is unique in that each patient has different desires. So first of all, the surgeon will check in with his patient to precisely identify his preferences.
The expected result may be simulated by retouching photographs or computer simulation. The virtual image, thus obtained, is only a project that can help in understanding patient expectations.
However, you cannot in any way commit yourself to ensuring that the result achieved will be superposable in any way.
To give the patient the nose of their dreams, the surgeon will have to perform one or more of the following actions:
→ Sculpt certain areas of cartilage to reshape the shape of the nose
→ Carry out cartilage grafts to fill hollows
→ Remodeling the bone structure of the nose
