Breast hypertrophy is defined by an excessively large volume of the breasts, especially compared to the morphology of the patient. This excess volume is generally associated with breast sagging (breast ptosis) and sometimes with a certain degree of asymmetry.
Breast hypertrophy almost always involves physical and functional repercussions (neck, shoulder and back pain, discomfort when playing sports, clothing difficulties). There is also frequently a significant psychological impact.
The procedure removes excess breast tissue. A volume is maintained in harmony with the patient's silhouette and in accordance with her desires. This residual breast volume is ascended, concentrated, and remodelled.
The skin envelope must then be adapted, which requires removing excess skin in order to ensure good hold and shape for new breasts.
The edges of the skin cut in this way are then sutured: these sutures are the cause of the scars.
In general, it requires a periareolar scar, a vertical scar, and a horizontal scar made of marine ink.

In addition to local improvement, this intervention generally has a positive impact on weight balance, sports, clothing options and psychological status.

See moreIt is important to keep in mind that scars are an inherent aspect of surgery, and that scars may vary depending on the patient. The scars are permanent, but they wear off over time.
It is possible to use the Urgotouch laser immediately after surgery to promote the attenuation of scars.
Breast reduction is generally performed under general anesthesia for day hospitalization or inpatient treatment.
The duration of the procedure varies according to the needs of each patient and the particularities of the operation. In general, it lasts between an hour and a half and two and a half hours approximately.
The total length of hospital stay is one day, although it is also common for some people to leave the hospital on the same day.
The chest is raised, natural and harmonious. It also improves quality of life and self-esteem.
The procedure is not very painful. However, after surgery, there may be slight pain in the breast area that can be effectively controlled with painkillers.
As with all procedures, there are risks and complications can occur (bleeding, infection, disunity, scarring hazards, etc.). These are infrequent and can be taken care of quickly by the surgeon during post-operative checks. An information sheet from the French Society of Plastic Surgery will be given to you before the procedure.
My approach is initially to listen to patients in order to determine if their expectations are realistic and achievable and if the risk-benefit ratio is in favor of an intervention.
