Head and neck lift

What is a head and neck lift?

The purpose of the operation is to treat the sagging and sagging of the skin and muscles of the face (temples and eyebrows, cheeks, jowls, oval of the face) and neck but also the insufficiency or excess of fatty tissue. The aim of such an intervention is not to change the shape or appearance of the face.

On the contrary, the simple restoration of the various anatomical structures of the face and neck (skin, muscle, fat) allows the surgeon to regain the appearance that was his a few years ago. The surgeon ensures that the result is as natural as possible.

Principle of intervention

The incision is mostly hidden in the hair and around the ear. From the incisions, a detachment is made under the skin; its extent depends on each case, in particular on the extent of tissue relaxation.

The musculo-aponeurotic plane is then restored precisely and dosed, in order to correct the profound sagging, while maintaining the natural expression of the face.

In the case of localized fat overload, a liposuction or lipectomy with scissors is performed at the same time: it can act on the neck, chin, jowls and cheeks.

On the other hand, in the event of volume loss, adding fat from the patient (lipostructure) will often prove effective in harmonizing the final result. A blepharoplasty may be associated with the procedure.

My approach is initially to listen to patients in order to determine if their expectations are realistic and achievable and if the risk-benefit ratio is in favor of an intervention.
