What is upper blepharoplasty?
A blepharoplasty aims to reduce the signs of aging present in the eyelids and to replace the “tired” appearance of the eyes with a more rested and relaxed appearance.
In particular, it makes it possible to open the eye by subtly correcting excess skin on the upper eyelids.
Principle of intervention
The surgeon makes an incision in each of the upper eyelids in order to remove excess skin.
He will take the opportunity to extract, if necessary, the small pockets of fat that often form at the internal eye angles.
Finally, it closes the wound with very fine thread sutures.

A period of 1 to 6 months is necessary to really assess the result. This is the time needed for the tissues to regain all their flexibility and for the scars to disappear as best as possible.
The results of a blepharoplasty are generally among the longest-lasting in cosmetic surgery. The removal of the “pockets” is almost permanent, and they usually never come back.
On the other hand, the skin continues to age and the resulting laxity can, in the long run, reproduce the squinting of the eyelids. However, it is rare for a new intervention to be considered before a dozen years.
