One plasty Abdominal, or “Abdominoplasty”, is a surgical procedure that treats excess skin and sagging skin in the abdomen.
To do this, a portion of the skin on the belly that is damaged is removed in order to tighten the remaining healthy skin.
The layout of the incisions, which corresponds to that of future scars, depends on the location and quantity of injured skin: in practice, the scar will last longer the greater the quantity of tissue to be removed.
In general, the aim is to be able to hide the scar in your underwear. Excess fat can be removed by liposuction and the distended muscles are put back in tension.
The remaining skin (above the navel) is re-draped downwards and can benefit from a “padding” aimed at refixing it on the underlying muscular wall, thus improving tension (in particular of the upper portion) and making it possible to close the detachment space and limit the risk of effusion. For its part, the umbilicus is transposed.

Their extent depends on the importance of the tummy tuck. They are usually hidden by underwear.
swelling and bruises in the abdomen that gradually resolve over a few weeks. Pain of varying degrees of severity may be experienced, depending on the type of tummy tuck and its importance. And in particular, restoring muscle tension is more painful. The patient should wear elastic restraint at all times for at least 1 month. A slight loss of sensitivity may be observed in the lower abdomen.
A 15-day work stoppage is necessary, but the patient will be able to return to his job earlier (a job that does not require significant physical effort).

The final result can be assessed after 6 months and the final appearance of the scars can be judged after one year. The patient gets a womb flat with well-taut skin and a refined silhouette. The results are long-lasting, as long as the patient's weight remains stable.
An abdominoplasty does not in any way contra-indicate pregnancy, but it can (naturally) cause a new sagging skin.

See moreAbdominoplasty scars depend on the size and site of the incisions and the method used. The resulting scar is located above the pubis, hidden in the underwear. And also around the umbilicus.
It is possible to use the Urgotouch laser immediately after surgery to promote the attenuation of scars.
The most common type of anesthesia used to perform a tummy tuck is general anesthesia, during which the patient is asleep until the surgery is finished.
The length of a tummy tuck can vary greatly, but most procedures take about two hours. The duration varies depending on the extent of the treatment, the amount of tissue to be removed and whether or not liposuction is combined.
In most cases, a one-night hospital stay is sufficient.

In general, tummy tuck surgery causes discomfort and pain that can be completely controlled by pain relievers. When the rectus rectus muscles have been put back into tension, the pain is more severe, especially during abdominal efforts.
As with all procedures, there are risks and complications can occur (bleeding, infection, disunity, scarring hazards, etc.). These are infrequent and can be taken care of quickly by the surgeon during post-operative checks. An information sheet from the French Society of Plastic Surgery will be given to you before the procedure.
My approach is initially to listen to patients in order to determine if their expectations are realistic and achievable and if the risk-benefit ratio is in favor of an intervention.
