What is lower blepharoplasty?
La blepharoplasty Inferior is a cosmetic surgery procedure that aims to correct certain defects associated with aging of the lower eyelid:
→ Formation of bags under the eyes associated with sagging skin and fat accumulation. This phenomenon is accentuated by muscle relaxation.
→ Lower eyelids wrinkled by excess skin.
→ Dark circles are not treated with blepharoplasty but can be treated concurrently with an injection of fine fat, called microlipofilling or nano fat.
Principle of intervention
The surgeon can make 2 types of incision, depending on the procedure he plans to perform:
- The transconjunctival route
The incision is made in the inner part of the eyelid, that is, at the level of the conjunctiva. This method is used if the action to be performed is the removal of fatty pockets.
- The subciliary ciliary tract
Both methods can be carried out in the same procedure if several actions have to be carried out (removal of fatty bags + skin tension, etc.).
